I had really been enjoying the handful of cooler days, but then our temperatures ramped right back up again starting on Monday. I find I am still in “puttering mode” with nothing major in the works as far as projects go. It feels nice to move at a much slower pace and to just simply enjoy each day appreciating whatever it happens to offer. I especially appreciate air conditioning.
Jack helped me with a family history project I've been working on
The Western Idaho Fair began last Friday however, this year I’ve decided not to attend again. I didn’t go last year. Instead I chose to stay home over the weekend and enjoy my little sanctuary while I took a break from people. I did some writing, a bit of paper crafting, a load of laundry, tinkered out in the garage, puttered about out in the yard and spoiled my chickens and the kitties with treats and lots of love. It was really nice to have some “me” time and recharge my batteries.
I hardboiled and pickled some of my pee wee eggs
To give you perspective on how small they are there are 10 eggs in this pint jar
I worked my usual schedule which left me with Wednesday to run errands and then Thursday I got busy and gave the vehicles a much needed bath so they are all shined up again. There was a lot of puttering going on again and before I knew it another week had come to an end, just like that. I’m not quite sure where the time went.
I tried the eggs sliced up on a salad - delish!
I guess it really doesn’t matter whether I’m go-go-going or taking it easy, time just continues to march on. It was a very good week though with enough productivity to keep me from feeling lazy and just enough lazy to keep me from feeling over worked. I actually felt retired! How was your week?
