Whether you do
it yourself or choose to have it done for you properly maintaining your vehicle
is a very important task. The better you
take care of your things the better they will perform and the longer they will
last. Nowhere is that statement more
true than when it comes to our homes and our vehicles, our most valuable and
expensive assets.
Looks pretty good for a 25 year old truck 😁 |
As part of my
winter preparations I always like to spend some time doing preventative
maintenance of my car and truck. I was
able to do that last week by changing the oil on both vehicles, replacing the
air filter on the truck and then checking and topping up the fluids - brake, power
steering, coolant and of course the all important washer/wiper fluid. Along with that I inspected the wipers, belts
and hoses to make sure none of those needed to be replaced and I even crawled
underneath to inspect boots, gaskets, brakes and the exhaust system. Lastly I took a good look at the tires.
With all of that
done I now have an idea of future maintenance that will or may be needed as
well as a good idea of the condition of my car and my truck as we head into
winter. Both vehicles will need a good
bath and I will clean and vacuum the interiors as well. Soon I'll be placing the snow chains in the
truck so they are handy in case I need them as well as the jumper cables as
colder weather can cause batteries not to start. Although my batteries are still fairly new it
is nice to be prepared.
It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it! 😃
It feels really good
to have those tasks marked off the "to-do" list and to be better
prepared for the months ahead. Now onto
the next items on the list.
Impressive!!
ReplyDeleteI have never changed the oil in a car, but I have helped my husband work on our cars. I'm not mechanically inclined at all, so it is safer to let someone else do it. :D
You've got it made! :o)
