As I mentioned last week I had a busy week working a
full time schedule to cover for a coworker on vacation plus I had company
arrive. My regular routines were
completely thrown off, but that’s okay.
I still managed to make it work and it was a great week. This week was as well.
After working
all day last Friday I came home, ate my dinner and then settled in to work on
my art journal while I watched TV. It
was very relaxing and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. It was the perfect way to settle down after a
jam packed week.
Saturday morning
I started out slow with coffee, kitties and my laptop. I did quite a bit of writing and even paid a
couple of bills that had showed up on Friday.
All my bills for the month of March are paid. That always feels good. Then it was time to get off my rear end and
start my day.
We were slated
for a lovely warm spring like weekend so I was chomping at the bit to get
outside as soon as the temperatures started to rise. I headed outdoors to work on a few projects I
had in mind. I have a small list of
things I need to do and a HUGE list
of things I want to do and I’m really
excited to get working on those things.
First up on my list was to go outside and do some work on the big dent
on the passenger side of the Subaru and then get all the leaves out of the
garage that had blown in from the wind we’ve been having.
Sunday I was up
and at it once again. I started my big
load of laundry including sheets and towels and while that rant I was able to
get outside and knock another item off my list that needed to be done. I got the oil changed on the Subaru, cleaned
the engine and topped up all the fluids.
It was a huge relief to check that off my list as it was nagging
me. I wanted to get that done right away
when I got the car, but the weather was not cooperating with me and since I’m a
driveway mechanic I kind of needed it to.
Inside I got my
bed remade and the entire upstairs vacuumed.
Then I cleaned the stairway and came back with my can of stain and a rag
to freshen up the steps and cover some of the dings I’d put in them while
moving furniture down the stairs during my big decluttering and reorganizing projects.
Another task checked off the “to do” list.
I worked a few
hours on Monday at the senior center and the rest of the day I just puttered
about the house doing some simple housekeeping tasks and relaxing after a very
full and productive weekend. When I got
home I cleaned the chicken coop and the girls got to run around the backyard
for a bit. They loved that.
Tuesday I ran a
quick errand and then did some freezer food preservation work that I had
planned. Wednesday I was all about
catching up a little bit of “home management” paperwork and tasks, then
spending quite a bit of time writing on my laptop. It was a good time spent with my feet up
relaxing and a cat in my lap. Plus I got
a lot done. Later I got off my rear end,
ran an errand and then later that day went out with a friend to help her find a
birthday gift for her mom.
Thursday I went
back to work to take a wonderful group of seniors out to dinner at a nearby
restaurant and then to the theatre for a live production of I Hate Hamlet. The play was absolutely wonderful. It was a great evening and the perfect end to
this week in retirement. How was your
week?
Sounds like you had a good week - I am impressed by your driveway mechanic skills!
