I’ve
been making these cookies for years so I thought I’d share this recipe I copied
out of one of my mom’s old cookbooks eons ago, tweaked it a bit to make my own and
worked with it until it was perfect, and voila!
These
are great as is or I will often spruce them up a bit with raisins, dried
cranberries and/or chocolate chips. At
Christmas I like to add a teaspoon of cinnamon and some chopped apple. So
good! I hope you will give this recipe a
try. Enjoy!

What a coincidence…my daughter favors oatmeal raisin cookies and asked me to bake a batch, but I couldn’t locate a recipe I wanted to use. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteAlso: You once
posted a recipe for enchilada sauce, sans tomato sauce, some years ago. I can’t seem to find it, nor can I find where I put the recipe I used on any of my devices. (And this is why I prefer cookbooks and recipe card boxes.) Are you willing to share that recipe again? I found one online that *thought* was similar, but oh my…YUCK. We wound up just using the liquid from the salsa I made instead.
The reason it has been so long since I made it is that about 3 years ago a kid ran to the store, and as we do, went by the clearance shelf, and found cans of red enchilada sauce for 25 cents each. Yeah, he purchased them all.
Enjoy your week.

I'm so glad I posted this recipe for you today! :) As for my enchilada sauce, all of my recipes use tomato sauce. Sorry, my dear, I'm obviously not the one that posted your favorite recipe. I hope you find it.
DeleteDarn. I could have SWORN I read it in your old blog.
