As 2024 draws to a close I look back and smile with a very full and grateful heart. It has been an incredible year and I couldn’t be any happier about it. Once again, NO Bad Days! It’s funny, but once I made the decision to not have any bad days – I just don't. It just worked out that way. And while I have no idea what might happen in the new year I am going at it with the same expectations. NO Bad Days. Of course, I’ll keep you posted on how that works out.
This year I slowed down a bit on the project list, however I still managed to get quite a bit done. I kept up my yard, did some gardening and even added on another raised garden bed in the fall. I also planted my garlic so next summer I hope to have a nice harvest of bulbs to can and cook with. Plans are in the works for next spring even though I’m one of the worst gardeners on the planet.
I cooked and canned A LOT this year. I was truly blessed with a bumper crop of apples, pears and tomatoes this year. I was gifted fruits and vegetables throughout the year and was even able to preserve some of those gifts into bread & butter pickles and zucchini relish. And even though I took on a super thrifty grocery budget challenge I was able to survive, thrive and flourish.
Without a travel budget I still managed to take a trip to Las Vegas to celebrate my 60th birthday. I got to see a show I’ve wanted to see for a very long time and as a solo traveler for the first time in my life I got to do whatever I chose to do and it was an amazing experience.
This year I spent more time with my friends and family. I entertained more and I went out and did more things. I spent more time focusing on my health and wellbeing. I was more active and I really put myself out there which is a bit outside my comfort zone, but I did it. This year really taught me how to take care of ME. In the process I’ve found contentment and I’m very happy.
Yes indeed, it has been an incredible year. Thank you so much 2024! You were very good to me.
I hope 2025 is as good for you as 2024 was. You've done great. I love NO bad days. I try to remind myself of that.
ReplyDeleteI hope 2025 is awesome for you too Lori. NO Bad Days!
DeleteSounds like an amazing year😊
ReplyDeleteIt was! :o)
DeleteYou don't seem like a terrible gardener to me!
ReplyDeletePerhaps you're a "just enough of a gardener "! That may be all you need.
Perhaps you are right. Thanks Margaret. :0)
DeleteYou have amazed me with your ability to budget and keep to it. I must have missed how you budgeted for your trip to Las Vegas. I will keep searching because I am sure you can teach me a few things about how you did it.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Thank you Becky and Happy New Year to you as well. Here is the post where I talked a little bit about my trip:

I think gardeners can be made, not born, and seems like you are well on your way. I am intrigued about how you go about traveling alone - it is something I want to do next year. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteGood for you Gina! Solo travel is a lot of fun. Happy New Year.
