My
dining room is situating between the kitchen and the living room area with a
little nook or bay window, if you will.
I decided to really maximize this space by tailoring the table and chairs
to fit this unique area. I had an idea
to find a triangular shaped table and only have two dining chairs.
As luck
would have it I was able to order a guitar pick dining room table in the
perfect size to nestle inside the nook right up against the window so it wouldn’t
stick out into the walkway. On each side
I positioned two simple mid century modern style chairs I ordered from, of all
places, Home Depot. This set up is
perfect for me and Yes! I really do sit
at the table and eat my meals.
The
bonus came when my tiny freezer
showed up and fit in the space between the dining set and the wall along the
refrigerator. I couldn’t believe that it
fit there as I was originally thinking it would end up somewhere else entirely. I think the style of the table and chairs is
absolutely the best. I love my cozy little tiny
dining room!

I'm enjoying reading how you are finding ways to personalize your new home and make it a fit for your new life.
ReplyDeleteI am having fun! :o)
DeleteI really like the dining room table. I had no idea there was an option besides round/oval or square/ rect. Your Home Depot must be so different than mine. No Chairs here.
ReplyDeletebarb
I had to order them online. The Home Depot near me is very small. ;-)
DeleteThe table looks so nice. Love what you have done with your tiny space!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lorraine :)
DeleteLooks very nice . Great job finding things to fit your space. 😊 Janie
ReplyDeleteIt has been fun. Thanks Janie.
DeleteI know you need absolutely no help decorating your new home, but I think it would be fun to find a nice pattern of peel-and-stick wallpaper and cover the mini freezer so that it looks more like furniture and less like an appliance. You could then put some shelves above it, painted to complement the wallpaper, and it would look more like a hutch-style setup. Just a thought...
ReplyDeleteYour guitar-pick table is genius! It makes so much of the dining space, but doesn't intrude and is easy to work around because of the rounded corner. Kudos to you--you have a great talent for thinking out of the box! Sue
Thank you for the suggestions.
