Hello my
friends. Another busy week has flown
right on by. They aren’t slowing down,
not even a little bit. I got quite a bit
done last week, more things have been checked off my “to do” list as we head
into winter.
I grated up the
last of my garden zucchinis and used up a can of pumpkin I had in the pantry to
make up four loaves of bread – 2 zucchini and 2 pumpkin. I wrapped them up well and tucked them into the
freezer so I have them at the ready to slice and serve to guests that visit me
during the holidays. One of those loaves
may even be going to a friend of mine at Christmas.
The fridge was looking a wee bit thin My crisper drawer was looking absolutely pitiful
4 small potatoes, 3 carrots and a small wedge of purple cabbage
I started
getting ready for sending out Christmas cards.
I am planning to mail them out on the first Monday in December so I
figured I’d better get started. While
running errands I stopped in at the post office and picked up some extra
Christmas themed postage stamps so I have enough for mailing. By the way, if you would like to exchange
Christmas cards with me this year email me your address and I will add you to my list.
A lovely slice of zucchini bread & a cup of tea
I tried a new recipe so I had to taste test it - delicious!
On Wednesday I
hopped onto the freeway and drove two cities over to meet a friend for
lunch. We got all caught up on what has
been going on with each other and vowed not to let so much time pass before we
got together next time. I really need to
work on not allowing so much time to go by before I reach out to people and say
hello.
I got my first
paycheck last week and used most of it to replace the engine battery in my
truck. The old one was having a hard
time starting after our recent freezing cold temperatures overnight so I knew
it would only be a matter of time until I got stranded. It felt good to get over to Interstate
Battery and invest in a solid replacement battery. I got home and checked that off the list. The rest of my check went to topping up the
gas tank and buying some groceries. I
have to admit it is kind of nice having that extra little bit of cash coming in
every couple of weeks.
After putting
off the grocery shopping as long as possible while I used up what was already
in the fridge I finally went after work on Thursday and did a nice sized
shop. I started out at Winco and then
went to Fred Meyer to get a few things that were on sale. I had quite a few coupons to pair with those
sales items, both digital and paper, so I definitely wanted to take advantage
of the extra savings.
I got that
packet of photos I had printed off at Walgreens a couple weeks ago all put away
into an album. I then went back and
annotated the pages with what, where and who.
I also typed up a little essay about a vacation we took and included
that with those photos. Toward the end
of the week I ordered up my next round of photo prints and used a 60% OFF
coupon code to save me some more money on this project.
It was a super
fabulous week, busy and productive just like I like it. I also was able to spend some quality time
with friends which I always appreciate.
I am blessed to have such a great circle of friends. And of course, a great group of lovely people
that follow my blog. I am so very
fortunate. I wish a terrific week ahead
to all of you! 💕
I simply love how organized you are.

Oh, thank you Barb. :)
DeleteYou sound like a woman after my own heart - getting it DONE! Always better to think ahead (battery, breads, cards, etc.) Its the list maker in me that wants to stay organized and makes me feel productive!
ReplyDeleteChecking those things off that list gives me such a boost. ;)
DeleteOooh, your bread looks so good! Great job using up those items! I'm so glad to hear work is going great for you. You just reminded me I need to get some Christmas stamps from the post office! Haha! Hope you have a fantastic week!
